POSITION SUMMARY The Sr.
Analyst, Operational Risk is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and/or evaluating the Company's Operational Risk (OR) program that renders risk-based processing and reporting to reduce operating losses and maintain maximum protection of the organization's assets, products, and services.
S/he will recommend opportunities and propose resolutions for improved efficiency, effectiveness, and/or risk reduction for the department.
RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS Adjusts risk management policies, systems, and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness within the department.
,Assists in processing risk assessments by analyzing risk data and identifying any plausible risks affecting the business and operations.
,Assists senior level staff and management as requested.
,Evaluates risk management contingency plans and reports findings.
,Evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of existing controls and provides recommendations on opportunities for improvement.
,Informs employees on risk policies and guidelines to build a risk aware culture and practice across the organization.
,Interprets and applies procedures, ensures analysis is documented and that records are maintained.
,Operates as a point of contact for the department by responding to internal inquiries regarding policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and project status updates.
,Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
,Prepares appropriate review memorandum summarizing liabilities and recommends follow-up evaluations, Provides procedural guidance and support to junior analysts in the various functions of the department, and in the methods of tools of analysis.
,Researches a wide variety of topics and issues including emerging risks and trends and risk management best practices; summarizes and communicates findings with team.
,Reviews identified risks and liabilities; informs and recommends resolutions with business lines to mitigate risk potential.
EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree; Business, Finance, Management, or equivalent field.
,or equivalent work experience; WORK EXPERIENCE 3-5 years; Risk Management/Risk MIS SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to analyze risk and provide recommendations and/or resolutions to minimize risk.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
